Planning Application Fees

As from 6th April 2008 changes to the Regulations regarding the Planning Applications Fees take effect. These are set by the government and are the same across all Local Authorities in England.

Planning Application Fees

As from the 6th April 2008 the following changes to the Fees Regulations will take effect:

• A fee increase of 11% (£15) for householder applications
• An overall 25% increase for other fees
• A new maximum fee of £250,000 (or £125,000 if an outline application) for all exept minerals and waste applications, for which the maximum will go up 25% (to £65,000)
• A new fee of £85 for 'requests for confirmation that a planning condition has been fulfilled' (or £25 where the request relates to a householder development)

Examples of the new charges are as follows;

• Application for a new dwelling will increase from £265 to £335
• Application for householder consent will increase from £135 to £150
• Application for change of use will increase from £265 to £335
• Advertisement on business premises from £75 to £95
