The high point of this walk is Worfield Golf Course with the chance of some good views across Shropshire to the Clee Hills. The walk starts from the picturesque village of  Worfield to make its way to the neighbouring settlement of Hilton. The route then passes through easy-going undulating countryside with the prospect of fine views.

The Route

(1) From the village hall cross the road to the junction and go right on the side road. At the T-junction go left on the lane for a quarter of a mile. Immediately after the entrance to a property West Bradeney and before the entrance to Bradeney Nursing Home go right on a crossing footpath. At the end of the enclosed path cross a stile and go forward keeping three mature trees immediately on your left to gradually veer to the right to a stile in the corner.

Worfield (2) Cross and proceed forward over the field bearing slightly left to a footbridge over Stratford Brook. Go ahead on an enclosed path which accompanies the stream. Cross three stiles in close succession and go half right across a field to join a fence at a corner. Go ahead on the fence-line, right, to a stile in the corner exiting on to a lane in Hilton. Go right on the road.

(3) At the A454 go right on the pavement and take the first road left - Sandpit Lane. When the road bends left to pass two bungalows, bear right and ahead on a bridleway which initially follows a surfaced lane on a gentle rise. When the road ends continue on an enclosed path with former sandpits to the left. Pass through a gateway and ahead. When the enclosed section ends continue forward with fence and imposing Dallicote Hall on your right to exit on to a lane.

(4) Go right on the road and within a few paces go left passing Dallicott Farmhouse, left. Immediately after the farmhouse entrance go left through a gateway. Go right and ahead on the field right-hand boundary. The route now is straight ahead keeping to field boundaries to eventually climb a stile on to a lane. Go right on the road.

(5) At a T-junction cross the road to pass through a gateway on a signed bridleway - ignoring the byway, left. Pass barns as the rough roadway makes a descent. At the bottom when the road bends sharp left with a corrugated iron barn, right, go right through a gateway and forward. Pass through a bridle gate and continue ahead on the bridleway, ignoring a footpath, left, as the narrow path makes a steady ascent.

Worfield

(6) Nearing the crest of the rise look for a stile on the left. Cross and go right on the field edge and round the corner to a stile on to Worfield Golf Course. Go left and ahead on the course boundary with the hedge on the left. In the corner go right keeping to the boundary now with woodland on your left.

Worfield

(7) At the corner of the wood go left to follow a line of wooden power line posts to arrive at the club service road. Go right on the road passing to the left of the clubhouse. Continue forward through the members' car park at the end of which go through a gap immediately to the right of facing double gates. Go left down a track. Keep to the field right-hand boundary to exit on to A454. Go right on the verge for a short distance.

(8) At a butcher's shop cross the road and go forward on a metalled driveway. Immediately before white gates go right through a kissing gate and ahead keeping to the enclosed footpath to exit on to the road in Worfield. Go right to the village hall.
