The Route

Tuckhill

(1) At the apex of the fork of the road junction, with your back to Tuckhill Farm, go left on the wider of the two roads downhill towards the village, passing the "Reduce speed" signs and church to your left. Within a short distance, at the first junction, go right and go ahead on the lane, passing Cherry Orchard Farmhouse, left.

(2) When the lane bends sharp right to join A458, go left over a stile. Go forward to a stile just left of lone tree. Go ahead to another stile - savouring the wonderful wide-screen view across the Severn valley - and proceed straight ahead down the field to cross a plank footbridge and stile in the facing hedge-line. Cross the field diagonally to exit on to a lane.

(3) Go left on the road for a few steps and go right on a signed bridleway which, initially, follows an unmade road. When this ends, at a cottage, continue ahead on a tree-lined path. At a cottage continue forward on a rough driveway to exit on to the road at hamlet of Kingsnordley. Go right on the lane passing fisheries entrance and Kingsnordley Farm.

(4) At T-junction go right now keeping to lanes for just under a mile and a half. In the hamlet of Wooton  ignore footpath, right and at a junction veer left. At a T-junction go left and keep the lane for half a mile.

(5) Just after the road dips slightly and goes straight ahead towards Quatt church go left through unmarked gateway. Proceed forward on field-edge track. In the field corner go left for a few paces and then right through a wide gateway to head up the field with the wood on your right.

(6) At wood corner go right and ahead on unmade road. When this road bends sharp right to farm go forward through gateway and ahead on field boundary to a gate. Go left on an unmade road which makes a gradual ascent. The walk now keeps to this green lane for a mile and a half with splendid views over the Severn Valley. At a road go ahead for a short distance to rejoin the green lane - ignoring a track left.

(7) At a road go left. Veer left at a junction and within a few steps go left over a stile. Go half right up the field and through gateway in top left-hand corner. Go ahead up the field keeping fence on your right. (Coton Hall is over to left). At top of the field go right through gateway and ahead. Crest the rise and go left over a stile and half right down to a facing gate. Pass through to cross a stream.

Tuckhill

(8) Go right on a track for 25 yards to cross a stile, left. Go ahead over the arable field as indicated bearing slightly right on a footpath which may not be clear on the ground. Crest the rise and continue forward bearing slightly right to cross fence-stile. Go ahead on field boundary. In the corner, facing a barn, go left and ahead keeping hedge on your right. On approach to homes keep to the hedge-line with pond right to pass through gateway and ahead and out on the driveway.

(9) Go right on the lane. Pass Lodge Farm and at the road junction go left and immediately right uphill. Pass through a sandstone cutting and opposite the farm entrance go left to the car park.
