The Community Champions Fund

Could you be a Community Champion with a little help from this fund?

What is it?

The Community Champions Fund was set up by the Department for Education and Skills to support individuals with between £50 to £2,000, to develop ideas and skills to help their communities or encourage community activity.

Can I apply?

Can you answer 'YES' to the following?

• Will your project benefit the community and encourage members of your community to become more involved or to learn new skills?
• Is your project of a scale which can be funded from within the Community Champions maximum award of £1,500; and other sources of funding are not being used and/or would not be more appropriate?
• Do you want to share your skills and experience by helping others in a community to spread good practice or develop ideas?
• Are you looking to act as an inspirational figure, community entrepreneur, mentor or leader, but need a little help to increase your skills?
• Are you starting out and need help to get your ideas and involvement in helping your community off the ground?

If you have answered yes to most or all of these questions, and would like a little help from the Community Champions Fund to put your idea into practice, then call us to request an application form.
