Performance Management Plan

We produced our Best Value Performance Plan for 2007/08 at the end of June 2007 - this was done in accordance with Section 6 of the Local Government Act 1999.

The Government has streamlined the Performance Plan requirements significantly. We are now required
to include:

  • a brief summary of our objectives and priorities for improvement. This is to reflect
    our corporate business planning process and community strategy;
  • arrangements for addressing our improvement priorities, particularly the
    opportunities and weaknesses identified in our Comprehensive Performance
    Assessment, and the outcomes that are expected to be achieved as a result;
  • details of our performance; and
  • a brief statement on contracts.

In addition to publication of the BVPP we also produce a second more comprehensive volume containing less narrative but much more detailed performance data and statistical information.

In light of its usefulness as a performance management tool, this second volume is known as the Performance Management Plan.

The Performance Management Plan is intended to be a working document to assist councillors and officers in the ongoing management of our services and corporate health.
