Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)

The Annual Monitoring Report will be used to assess progress on the delivery of the LDF and to review policy effectiveness. It covers the period from the 1st April to the 31st March and will be published the following December. The AMR will:

  • Review progress in the preparation of local development documents against the timetable and milestones set out in the LDS
  • Assess the extent to which policies are being implemented, either those in an existing Local Plan or in development plan documents
  • Where policies are not being implemented, explain why and the steps to be taken to ensure that the policy is implemented or whether it requires to be amended or replaced
  • Identify the significant effects of implementing the policies and if they are as intended (against a set of core and local output indicators)
  • Set out whether policies are to be amended or replaced

The AMR for the period 1st April 2006 to the 31st March 2007 was submitted to the Secretary of State in December 2007.

The AMR contains contextual information to describe the social, environmental and economic background of the District. These indicators help provide an understanding of the wider context in which policies are prepared. They also provide a baseline position against which the effects of policies can be considered.

Further contextual information can also be found on the neighbourhood statistics website.

The AMR contains a series of core and local indicators against which the development plan policies are assessed. Much of the data contained in the AMR for these indicators has been taken from the Development Trends Report 1996-2007 for Bridgnorth District prepared by the Sustainability Group of Shropshire County Council.
