Sports and leisure centres

The three sports and leisure centres in the district - at Much Wenlock, Shifnal and Bridgnorth are provided by the county and district council on a 'Joint-Use' basis.

This means they are used by students during school hours and by the public during evenings, weekends and school holidays.

The centres have sports halls (for netball, volley ball, five-a-side soccer, indoor tennis and badminton), training areas outside for ball games, tennis courts, playing fields and, in the case of Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock, swimming pools.

Bridgnorth Sports and Leisure Centre also has squash courts and facilities for theatre, concerts and other cultural activities. It has an artificial grass pitch, which is ideal for hockey and football, together with a fitness suite and licensed bar.
