Household waste - disposal sites

From 1st October 2007 Shropshire Waste Partnership will be resposible for Bridgnorth District Council's waste and recycling services.

Barnsley Lane Household Recycling Centre

Household recycling and waste can be taken to our main site at Barnsley Lane Recycling Centre. This site is operated by Shropshire Waste Management on behalf of Shropshire County Council and accepts household and garden waste and recyclables.

This site does not accept trade waste or scrap cars. If you wish to bring domestic waste to the site in a commercial-type vehicle such as a van, pick up, trailer or horsebox you will need to apply for a permit before coming to the site. Private cars do not require permits.

Permits

Entry permits are free and are only available to people living in the Shropshire County Council area. Each permit entitles the applicant to one site visit using a trailer or commercial type vehicle

Why have permits?

The permits are intended to help prevent the illegal use of the sites for the disposal of trade waste. The sites cannot accept any commercial or industrial waste, or any waste carried for commercial gain. Anyone who tips this type of waste at the sites can be prosecuted.
