All information received is treated in the strictest confidence. Remember, if you wish to report a suspected fraud, you do not have to give your name. If however, you do want to leave your name, you may be contacted by the Counter Fraud Officer for further information. Report suspected benefit fraud online.

At Bridgnorth District Council, we have a small but dedicated team employed in the prevention and detection of fraudulent claims to benefit. All information provided is investigated.

Examples of the types of cases we are interested in :

  • People who are claiming to live alone, but have partners living with them
  • People who are working and claiming benefit
  • People with undeclared savings/capital
  • People who own more than one property
  • People who have undeclared household members
  • People claiming from, but not living at an address
  • People with undeclared occupational pensions
